PG Online-Demo

Performance Guard™ measures all data directly on the end-user PC or Citrix Server via a compact agent. A centralized server collects and processes the data from all end-user PCs, and data can be viewed in real time via a web browser.

This reporting data provides an instant overview of response times from all applications employed by all end-users. All existing applications – as well as any new ones – will be measured automatically. Baselines and alarms can be set after a few hours of data collection.

Configuration of Performance Guard

Once the agent is installed on a PC or a Citrix server, the agent sends back data about all applications, IPs and ports being used.
To select the applications you wish to monitor, run the Application Wizard. This will automatically select the 20 busiest applications and add them to the monitored list where you can create reports.

Load Overview

This chart presents the total load (sent & received bytes) of individual servers or ports in a pie chart and gives you a quick overview of your current data traffic.

Hotspots - Servers

The Hotspots Servers gives you an instant overview of the "most waited for servers" in your network and makes it possible to identify the servers with the worst response time.

Application Response Time

When you have identified a sever or a group of servers with response time problems (ref. Hotspots above) this time view graph offers an overview of response time from the specified server(s) from a specific agent in a given time interval.

Histogram Graph

This bar chart shows the response time histogram, each bar represents the replies given within a predefined interval. This gives you a broader perspective on "how bad" the specific server is really performing.

Trace Route

The Network Analysis Module performs a trace route measurements from any client to any server in the network, immediately identifying response time and latency issues that may exist in the network, firewall or router.

Citrix Top 10 List

Gives a quick overview of the 10 worst performing users/Citrix servers on the following key parameters:
  • Login Time
  • Latency (average)
  • Sent/Received bytes (average)

Citrix Server Graph

The Performance Guard Module for Citrix monitors each end-user ICA session from the Citrix server for availability and performance of applications, as well as for application usage statistics. This example shows end-user latency as a function of number of users on the Citrix server.

Help Desk Wizard

The Help desk Wizard supplies the necessary data for a help-desk to provide fast and qualified support. It provides an instant overview of the user PC and the unique ability to monitor performance from that workstation and compare with other groups. You can use this wizard to easily identify single-client problems. This wizard will help identify client hardware, network or back-end server related problems.

Application Alarm

Using baselines and alarms, Performance Guard sends alerts on application crashes and performance bottlenecks so IT managers can quickly identify and proactively resolve issues with their systems. Alarms can be integrated to other system management tools through SMNP.

Responsetime by Location

Performance Guard can monitor response time for applications and core infrastructure components such as DNS, DC, Fileservers, Network etc. By grouping the agents based on location you can quickly determine if performance issues are related to one specific server or location.
