IP Network Monitoring
Automatically discover devices on your networks within a specified IP range, allowing you to quickly build an inventory of devices and services to monitor. Monitor routers, switches, firewalls and servers for:

• Number of open sessions / connections

• Ethernet errors
• Virtually any other metrics provided by SNMP

Windows Network Monitoring
Automatically discover devices on your Windows network, allowing you to quickly build an inventory and begin monitoring Windows workstations and servers for:

Deploying agents
N-central makes setting up monitoring and management simple and painless. Deploy agents to devices to be managed using probes, login scripts, Group Policy Objects or other software distribution tools such as N-able's Remote Environment Manager or Microsoft Systems Management Server. As the agents install, they will discover all of the asset properties of the device, contact N-central, create a new device in N-central and begin monitoring themselves, leveraging N-central's powerful automated configuration engine.

Detailed monitoring data
Unlike other solutions that are limited to reporting only up/down status, N-central shows whether a device is normal, failed, nearing failure, improperly configured, disconnected or in a maintenance window, or not reporting data. In addition to overall status, N-central monitors many individual metrics, such as with the HTTP service. It measures overall availability, DNS resolution, response time and HTTP error code returned, plus it validates the content returned and can even connect to a specific page and log into that page. N-central not only tells you when an issue is encountered, it tells you where – and allows you to report on how that changes over time!

Dynamic configuration updates
N-central detects asset changes and updates monitoring appropriately, including dynamic configuration updates based on new information (e.g. N-central detects a new hard disk and updates the monitoring automatically), new best practices, updating templates or defaults, or even the addition of an agent to an already monitored device.
